Meet Our New Faculty
Jacob Wynne, MD
Assistant Professor
Jacob Wynne, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radia琀椀on
Oncology. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and
completed his medical school educa琀椀on, internship, and residency training
at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Wynne
completed the B. Leonard Holman Research Pathway, a program dedicated
to the development of academic physician-scien琀椀sts in radia琀椀on
oncology. Dr. Wynne’s work focuses on transla琀椀ng advances in ar琀椀ficial
intelligence, computer science, and imaging into clinically ac琀椀onable tools
that enhance precision, efficiency, and pa琀椀ent outcomes in radia琀椀on
therapy. He is dedicated to a team-based approach to cancer care, working
closely with referring physicians, medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists,
and pathologists to develop coordinated, pa琀椀ent-centered treatment
plans. When not caring for pa琀椀ents, Dr. Wynne enjoys reading and spending 琀椀me outdoors with his family.
Rohan Patel, MD, MPH
Assistant Professor
Rohan Patel, MD, MPH, will join the Department of Radia琀椀on Oncology as
an Assistant Professor. He earned his medical degree from the American
University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and is comple琀椀ng his
radia琀椀on oncology residency, serving as Chief Resident, at the University
Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center/Case Western Reserve University. During
his dedicated research year, he completed a Master of Public Health with a
concentra琀椀on in Global Health and Policy at Case Western Reserve
University, where his capstone thesis examined gaps in pa琀椀ent educa琀椀on
models for radia琀椀on therapy in low- and middle-income countries.
Clinically, Dr. Patel will focus on gastrointes琀椀nal and central nervous
system malignancies, with interests in advanced image guidance and
adap琀椀ve radiotherapy, stereotac琀椀c abla琀椀on, and mul琀椀disciplinary care.
Dr. Patel’s academic interests center on global oncology, cancer equity, and implementa琀椀on science, with an
emphasis on transla琀椀ng innova琀椀on into sustainable, real-world cancer care delivery. His research spans global
health dispari琀椀es, sexual and gender minority cancer care, and the ethical and opera琀椀onal integra琀椀on of
ar琀椀ficial intelligence into oncology workflows, including grant-supported interna琀椀onal implementa琀椀on
ini琀椀a琀椀ves. He is ac琀椀vely engaged in na琀椀onal and interna琀椀onal professional service through leadership and
commi琀琀ee roles within the American Society for Radia琀椀on Oncology (ASTRO), the Radia琀椀on Oncology
Educa琀椀on Collabora琀椀ve Study Group (ROECSG), and the Interna琀椀onal Associa琀椀on for the Study of Lung Cancer
(IASLC), and is commi琀琀ed to advancing equitable, pa琀椀ent-centered cancer care locally and globally.
