Assistant Professor
Javier Mora, MD, will join the Medical College of Wisconsin
Department of Radia琀椀on Oncology as an Assistant
Professor. A na琀椀ve of Milwaukee, Dr. Mora earned a Bachelor
of Science in Biomedical Sciences, summa cum laude, from
Marque琀琀e University, and his Doctor of Medicine from the
Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his internship at
Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and will be comple琀椀ng his
residency training at the Harvard Radia琀椀on Oncology Program
in June 2026, training across Dana-Farber Cancer Ins琀椀tute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachuse琀琀s
General Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. His clinical and research interests center on language and
cultural concordance in cancer care, pa琀椀ent safety, and the integra琀椀on of emerging technologies to enhance
cancer treatment delivery and outcomes. Specifically, his work studied language dispari琀椀es in pa琀椀ent portal
use, interpreter u琀椀liza琀椀on during radia琀椀on therapy workflows, and mul琀椀lingual promp琀椀ng effects on cancer
informa琀椀on delivered by large language models. He was a recipient of the Mass General Brigham United
Against Racism Clinical Equity Improvement Grant, suppor琀椀ng enterprise-wide implementa琀椀on of on-demand
video medical interpreta琀椀on across radia琀椀on oncology departments in the Mass General Brigham network. Dr.
Mora has authored peer-reviewed publica琀椀ons in JAMA Oncology, Advances in Radia琀椀on Oncology, Cancer
Causes & Control, and other journals, with scholarship spanning culturally responsive cancer care, guideline
development, and dispari琀椀es research. He is an ac琀椀ve presenter at na琀椀onal and interna琀椀onal mee琀椀ngs
including ASTRO and ESTRO.
In addi琀椀on to his scholarly work, Dr. Mora demonstrated sustained leadership within Harvard-affiliated
ins琀椀tu琀椀ons. He served as Chief Resident, chaired affinity groups within the Brigham and Women’s Hospital
House Staff Council and was a frequent invited speaker on cancer educa琀椀on for both academic and community
audiences, o昀琀en presen琀椀ng bilingually in English and Spanish. His contribu琀椀ons have been recognized with
honors including the Massachuse琀琀s General Hospital Pillars of Excellence Award and nomina琀椀on for the
Ernesto Gonzalez Award for Outstanding Service to the La琀椀no Community.
