Introducing Our Inaugural MCW 2025 Radia琀椀on
Oncology Clinical Fellow
Guler Yavas, MD
Radia琀椀on Oncology Fellow
Guler Yavas, MD, is the first clinical Radia琀椀on Oncology Fellow
at MCW and is commi琀琀ed to clinical excellence and
transla琀椀onal research. She earned her medical degree
from Hace琀琀epe University Faculty of Medicine and completed
her residency in the Department of Radia琀椀on Oncology
at Hace琀琀epe University. Following her residency, she worked
in several radia琀椀on oncology departments in Turkey, leading
as a department chair, before pursuing specialized fellowship
training at the MCW to further engage with the field’s latest
clinical and technological advancements.

Dr. Yavas’ primary clinical interests include gynecologic
malignancies, brachytherapy, gastrointes琀椀nal tumors, and
stereotac琀椀c body radiotherapy. Her academic work focuses on
transla琀椀onal radia琀椀on oncology, with par琀椀cular emphasis
on radiogenomics, tumor microenvironment biology, and
biomarker development. She is working with Dr. Hall on the
development of en琀椀rely novel clinical trials that will impact
pancrea琀椀c cancer broadly. She is more specifically interested
in understanding how radia琀椀on influences immune and
stromal dynamics to improve treatment personaliza琀椀on and

Looking ahead, Dr. Yavas aims to advance the field of radia琀椀on oncology as a physician-scien琀椀st while mentoring
future trainees and suppor琀椀ng the con琀椀nued growth and academic excellence of the department. She considers
it a privilege to be part of the founda琀椀on of this fellowship program.
